Looking for info on Joseph and Nellie Walker, in/around Breese, IL. My grandfather, Ralph Thomas Walker, was born there in 1907. Siblings: Lucille Walker (Rohr), Eleanor Walker (Roebman), Frank Walker, Carl Walker (oldest), Jane Walker. I know that Ralph married Helen Bock in the mid 1920's and moved to Indianapolis (not necessarily in that order). Guessing at dates, since my father (oldest of 3) was born in 1929. Thanks!

Hello, my name is Sean Fischer. I am from Stuttgart, Arkansas. I have traced my great-grandfather back to Clinton Co., Illinois, I believe. I was wondering if you could help me if at all possible? My great-grandfather was Henry George Fischer, Sr. As the story I've been told goes, he was born in Germany on Feb. 25, 1864 and moved to Illinois as an infant with his family. They resided either in the Highland (Madison Co?) or St. Rose (Clinton Co?) area. He later married Elizabeth Heer (not my g-grandmother) and moved to Arkansas in 1881, later back to Illinois, and then returning to Arkansas again until his death in 1956. His obituary said he had two brothers: Frank of St. Rose, Illinois, and George of Martinsburg, Missouri. He ended up with 13 childen, and it turned out to be a HUGE family. I just don't understand how nobody knows anything with a family this big. I have searched all the records I have access to (not many) and I haven't found a thing. Any info you could possibly give me on his family (parent's names, etc.) would be greatly appreciated! I'm sorry I've rambled on so much. I just go so excited when I found that you might be able to help.

I am looking for information on the Remick-Osley home in Trenton, Illinois. I understand this is an historic rersidence in the town, and I suspect it may have been occupied by a member of my Remick line.

I uncovered the existance of this home in a search deep into the Internet. There is further info on it in the Clinton county Historical Society quarterly (Apr 1, 1989), according to what I found.

In my Remick records, George Washington Remick (1818-1904) and wife, Eleanor (Powers) moved to Trenton in 1858/9, possibly from Louisiana. He was born in New Hampshire. They had nine children. George had a business in Trenton-- Remick & Linn-- and a sawmill on Sugar Creek. He was the first president(?) of Trenton, according to records held by a direct descendant.

Was the Remick-Osley home the family residence of George and Eleanor? Perhaps someone with access to the Clinton Co Hist Soc journals could help.
Thank you

Bruce Remick
