Dan and Harriett Moore had nine children, eight were born in Illinois, and the youngest, Prudence, in Arkansas. They settled north of Jonesboro and he farmed, mostly vegetables to sell. Harriett died in 1914 and Dan in 1922 and are buried at Pine Hill Cemetery near his son, J. A. Moore, sr.
Many of their children married and remained in Craighead County. The oldest child, J.A. (Jim) married Gertie Cary, daughter of Samuel Cary and Martha Bennett Cary. Jim Moore was a respected schoolteacher in the Nettleton and County schools for over twenty years. They lived south of Nettleton and were the parents of ten children, nine boys and one girl. Two sons, J.A., jr and Dan Moore were killed in World War II. J.A.jr was killed in Italy in 1943 and Dan Moore was killed in France in 1943...
Eva Moore, daughter of Dan and Harriett Moore, married John Burnett, son of George Burnett and Sarah Frances Bennett. Eva and John Burnett had a grocery store in Jonesboro for over fifty years. Most of their descendants are now living in Little Rock and in Texas.
Joseph Moore, Fuel Moore, Nora Ellen (Moore) Sammons Depriest, and Nancy Moore Evans all married and were farmers in Craighead County. Many of their descendants are still living there.
John moved to Colorado, Silas to Memphis, and Prudence to Texas.
