Hello Bill,

I received the 1860,70,& 80 Craighead census books a few
days ago and they've created another mystery. Evidently, after
Seth Adam Niell's father died in 1867, his mother married Edward D.
Harris in the late 1860's, since they appear together in the 1870
census. They do not appear in the 1880 census, but I have an
old photo that my grandmother had labeled, "Uncle Clabe
Walters, S.A.Niell's half brother". A Charles Walters appears
in the 1870 census with children, but no wife listed; in the 1880
census he appears with a son, Claibourne Walters, aged 5, but
Charles wife's name is Amanda. I'm trying to determine whether
or not it's possible Edward D.Harris might have died shortly
after the 1870 census- then his widow, Margaret might have
married Charles Walters and gave birth to Claibourne about
1875, and then passed away herself prior to the 1880 census.
Seth Niell's father  is supposedly buried in the Strawfloor
Cemetery. Do you know of an index for Strawfloor?

This is a longshot but,I also have an old photo taken about
1890 that was labeled as "Seth A. Niell's old home in
Craighead Co", probably in the Bono or Jonesboro area.
I can ID Seth Niell, two of his children, and his brother
James-they are towards the far left side of the photo,but I am
unsure about the rest of the people in the photo, especially
the older couple toward the center right foreground.
 I have a old photo attached.
I've also been in contact with several other Stephens descendants
and as soon as I receive all their info, I will send you an updated
gedcom.
