Couch-332989 b: 1919, Tennessee OBIT: Melvin Buford Couch Thursday, Jan 15, 2009 Melvin Buford Couch, 52, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Tuesday evening, Jan. 13, 2009, in a local hospital. He was preceded in death by his father, Buford Couch; aunt, Eunice Whaley; and his brothers: Bobby, Don, James and Ova Whaley. He was a U.S. Army veteran, who served in the paratroopers. He was a member of the Philadelphia Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Loretta Young Couch of Cleveland; daughter, Casey Renne Couch; son, James Eric Couch, both of Cleveland; sisters: Louise Wood of Live Oak, Fla., Phyllis Barlow of Etowah, Nancy Brocklehurst of Covington, La.; brothers: A.C. Whaley of Decatur and Billy Whaley of Cleveland; and several nieces and nephews. The Remembrance of Life service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 16, 2009. from the Wildwood Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes with the Rev. Ray Higgins, the Rev. Jackie Martin and Wilbur Wood officiating. Interment will follow in the Moores Chapel Cemetery with Shane Harold, Billy Chastain, Jerry Chastain, Jeff Vaughn, Jeff Whaley, David Armstrong and Ken Harold serving as pallbearers.
