Bill,
I have received sufficient infomation relative to John Pipkin (#25356) to indicate that he is indeed John Pinckney Alley (#23593). John was raised by Willis Pipkin/Mary Couch Pipkin after the death of his parents Sarah Couch Alley and Isaac H. Alley in 1842. By appearing on the 1850 census, it was assumed that he was a son. A copy of a letter from a decendant listing the children of Willis and Mary Pipkin indicate no child by this name. Coupled with the fact that John disappears after the above 1850 Census and a John Pinckney Alley appears, I am satisfied that he is indeed the son of Sarah and Isaac. Also, John P. Alley appears in Civil War records.
Would you please adjust my page accordingly.
Thanks P. J. Cowling
