On September 20-21-22, 1899, over 150 Confederate veterans gathered for a reunion at Princeton, Dallas County, Arkansas.  The veterans pitched their tents in a meadow one and a half miles west of Princeton, and, in addition to sharing war stories, enjoyed a full program of music, speeches, recitations and food.  The veterans had served in Confederate regiments from Arkansas, Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia, but almost all were now living in south central Arkansas.  Following is a list of the veterans who attended the reunion, as reported in the September 28, 1899, issue of “The Princetonian” newspaper.

Some of the names were misspelled.  I have corrected the names of those whom I could positively identify.  A few of the veterans’ unit designations cannot be verified in the Index of Confederate Soldiers, but most of them have been confir ed.  The list of attendees gives the veteran’s name, present age, present address, and regiment.  In most cases, “The Princetonian” also listed the date and place of enlistment.
