WISHON, ISAAC - CO H, 1 Ark Cav, PVT, USA -enlisted 27 Jan 1864 - age 26, born Henderson, NC - buried in the Low Gap Cemetery in Newton Co. Arkansas, died August 6, 1917.

I talked to Isaac's granddaughter. Isaac is buried in the Low Gap Cemetery in Newton Co. Arkansas, died August 6, 1917. She doesn't know what he died of. She reminded me of a story I read in "The History of Newton County Arkansas" by Walter F. Lackey; published 1950.

Here's a quote from his book. This is a story by Isaac Wishon told to the author, Walter Lackey:

"One day while we were engaged in battle with the enemy, and the rifle fire was only spasmodic, my attention was attracted to a certain soldier who was firing at us. He would jump out from behind a privy, fire at us and disappeaar behind the privy again. I took good aim at about the middle of the privy and about waist high and fired. He never came out again."
