This company was organized by Capt. Richard Hooker at Jacksonport, Arkansas, on November 29, 1861, and discharged on December 28, 1861 at Pocahontas, Arkansas.  It was reorganized at Jacksonport on February 26, 1862, and merged into Companies C and D, 32nd Regiment Arkansas Infantry, on June 15, 1862.

Notation on muster roll—“Muster Roll of Capt. Hooker’s Company of Mounted Volunteers, raised in response to Col. Borland’s call of Nov. 5, 1861; mustered into the Confederate service Nov. 29 for 30 days, and discharged Dec. 28, 1861.  Entitled to transportation and subsistence from Pocahontas to Jacksonport, Ark.”
