Clear Lake Independent Guards
Arkansas Militia.
This company was organized in Clear Lake Township, Prairie County, Arkansas, by Capt. Bartley M. Barnes, and enlisted on June 1, 1863. Its mission was to provide for local defense and to support regular Confederate units when called upon. Most of the men had previously served in the 1861-1862 Prairie County Home Guard organization.
