ROGERS, J W (Jefferson Washington Rogers)
Lieutenant-Colonel—Elected lieutenant-colonel from Co. F, May 8, 1862; appears on muster roll of Co. A, 2nd Battalion Alabama Light Artillery, as inspector and mustering officer, April 30, 1863; absent on sick leave since August 17, 1864; present, August 31, 1864; record includes a letter from him asking for a pardon for two men, Robertson and Ragsdale, who had been convicted of desertion and sentenced to be shot to death; Lieutenant-Colonel Rogers had been president of the court-martial.
