NOTE: This statement is contained on the records of most of those of Co C  who were recorded as being left west of the Mississippi River:  "The men of this company reported west of the Mississippi River, were left in Arkansas when the remainder moved under Genl Van Dorn to reinforce Genl Beauregard at Corinth, MS in April 1862, being partly sick in hospital and partly on furlough. They were ordered to rejoin their company and were enroute to do so when Genl Hindman ordered them to remain & put them in a regiment then organizing. They are still there. xxx"
There is also the following note: " 3/4 of Co C previously served in Gratiot's 3rd Regt AR State Troops.
20 of this company went into Co A, 35th Inf 12Jun1862."
"Most of Co G, subsequently served in Co K, 35th (Also called 22nd) AR Inf.
There were no records found for Co I and K. Roster only shows 8."

F&S. GRIFFITH, JOHN Lt Col  - Age 28, born in SC. Previously served in AR under Genl McCulloch. Signed as inspector and mustering officer. Aptd 16 Apr  1862. Commander of 11th & 17th Regt. Residence: Greenwood, AR.
F&S MATHESON, W. Major  - Enl 17 Nov 1861. Born SC. Residence: Helena, AR.

-- DAWSON,  J.H. Pvt  - Captured 27 Apr 1862 near Goodrich Landing and sent to MP at Camp Chase, OH 20 Jun 1864 then to Point Lookout, MD 12 Feb 1865. In hospital at Richmond, VA 26 Feb 1865. In Way Hospital, Meridian, MS 24 Mar 1865.
