First Commander: James H. Hobbs, Col.

This Regiment was organized by changing the designation of McRae's 21st AR Inf Regiment about Feb1863. The regiment was surrendered 4 Jul 1863 at Vicksburg, MS and was paroled there later that month. It was consolidated with the 14th, 16th and the 21st Inf Regts in Jan 1964 and was designated as the 1st Inf  Regt Consolidated.

PATTON, JOHN M. 2Lt Enl in Nov 1861 in the 4th AR Inf. Discharged May1863. Conscripted Jul 1864 in the 48th Cav. Captured in Lynn Co, KS 15 Nov 1864 and sent to MP at Johnson's Island, OH. Released 15 May 1865.

Mixed with the records of HENSON, JAMES T. on record number 636 is the following:
HENSON, JOSEPH T. Pvt Co E, 6th Regt Confederate Cavalry. Captured 14 Sep 1864 at Magoffin, KY and sent to MP at Camp Morton, IN. Released on oath 12 Jun 1865.

BOONE, SQUIRE Col  - Enl 8 Jul 1861 at Bentonville, AR. Appointed adjutant 10 Jul 1861. Captured 4 Jul 1863 and paroled 8 Jul 1863 at Vicksburg, MS. Commanded the 15th Regt. Age 32, born in KY.

BOURLAND, ADDISON M.  Surgeon   - Enl 20 Mar 1862. Served 15 months. Age 37, born in AL.

BOURLAND, JASPER H. Hosp Steward  -  Enl 8 Jul 1861 at Bentonville, AR. Captured 4 Jul 1863 and paroled  at the hospital 16 Jul 1863 at Vicksburg, MS.

CALDWELL, WILLIAM F. Sgt Major  - Enl 1 Oct 1961 at Bentonville, AR. Appointed Sgt Major 4 Jun 1862. Captured 3 Oct 1862 at Davises Bridge, Corinth, MS. Paroled 13 Oct 1862 at Bolivar, TN. Age 23, born in AR. Captured 17 May 1863 at Big Black River Bridge, MS and sent to MP. Exchanged 25 Dec 1863 at Point Lookout, MD. Issued clothing 3 Jan 1864.

CARTER, CLARK B. 3Lt  - Enl 1 Nov 1861 at Keetsville, MO.. Transferred from Churchills Brigade 6 Mar 1862.

CARUTHERS, W.J. Lt - Adjutant Captured 4 Jul 1863 and paroled 8 Jul 1863 at Vicksburg, MS.

DOBSON, EDMOND E. Pvt  - Enl 15 Jul 1861 at Bentonville, AR. Left west of the Mississippi River, sick. Dropped 31 Oct 1863.

GIVENS, NEWTON Chaplain  - Enl 2 Nov 1861 at Fayetteville, AR. Resigned 8 Aug 1862.

HAGOOD, JAMES G. Chief Musician  - Enl 2 Nov 1861 at Fayetteville, AR. Elected captain at reorganization but died before assigned to duty. Died before 20 Jun 1863.
