E, 10th Arkansas Cavalry, at Magnolia, Arkansas, September 19, 1863; appointed first sergeant, September 19, 1863; appointed quartermaster-sergeant, November 5, 1863; present, February 29, 1864; captured at Longview, Arkansas, March 29, 1864; confined at U.S. Military Prison, Rock Island, Illinois; exchanged at Red River Landing, Louisiana, March 4, 1865; buried in Magnolia Cemetery, Columbia county, Arkansas.

Brown, James W
Assistant Surgeon—Enlisted in Co. D, 10th Arkansas Cavalry, at Camden, Arkansas, September 26, 1863; appointed assistant surgeon, November 30, 1863; present, February 29, 1864; captured at Pilot Knob, Missouri, September 27, 1864; confined at U.S. Military Prison, Alton, Illinois, until released on January 19, 1865; born in South Carolina, c1835; listed in Ouachita county 1860 census with wife Rachel; occupation physician.

Browning, William H
Commissary Sergeant—Enlisted in Co. D, 10th Arkansas Cavalry, at Camden, Arkansas, September 26, 1863; assigned to duty as commissary sergeant, November 11, 1863; present, February 29, 1864; captured at Longview, Arkansas, March 29, 1864; confined at U.S. Military Prison, Rock Island, Illinois, where he died on July 30, 1864; buried in Grave #1355 at Rock Island prison.

E, 1st Arkansas Infantry; and lieutenant-colonel, commanding Crawford’s Battalion Arkansas Infantry; born in Tennessee, c1826; married Sarah H. Henslee in Saline county, Arkansas, October 5, 1848; listed in Saline county 1860 census with wife Sarah H.; occupation farmer.

G, 6th Arkansas Infantry; born in Tennessee, c1821; died in Arkansas, April 1893; buried in Magnolia Cemetery in Columbia county, Arkansas; after the war he became a physician; widow Mary Killgore filed Arkansas pension application #3734 from Columbia county, August 6, 1903; listed in Columbia county 1860 census; occupation farmer.

F, 10th Arkansas Cavalry, at El Dorado, Arkansas, October 6, 1863; present, February 29, 1864; appointed regimental commissary, September 1, 1864; born in Alabama, September 3, 1826; died in Arkansas, January 17, 1891; buried in Bethel Baptist Cemetery in Union county; widow Martha A. Langford filed Arkansas pension application #4840 from Union county, August 15, 1907; listed in Union county 1860 census with wife Martha; occupation farmer; filed Federal land patents in Union county, 1849-1860.

Assistant Surgeon—Not listed on the muster roll; Federal records list him as assistant surgeon, 10th Arkansas Cavalry, captured at St. Louis, Missouri, February 1, 1865, and confined at U.S. Military Prison, Camp Chase, Ohio; exchanged at Hamilton, Virginia, March 14, 1865; born in North Carolina, c1834; listed in Hot Spring county 1860 census; occupation physician.

Newman, Charles Gordon
Assistant Adjutant-General—“Was assigned to duty with this command by Gen. Fagan, served until January 6, 1864, and then ordered back to Gen. Fagan by Lieut. Col. Killgore, then commanding the regiment”; born in Virginia, c1843; died at Pine Bluff, Arkansas, in 1911; after the war he owned the “Pine Bluff Commercial” newspaper.
