My paternal grandparents, Robert Avon Butler and Annie Ethelia Smith, were
both born and married in Ben Lomond (Sevier Co.), Ark. They were born
4/11/1920 and 1/17/1922, respectively, and were married on 4/27/1939. Butler and Smith are really common names, but I could sure use a leg-up if the above named ring any bells! Thanks!

Can anyone give us information on Newton A. Lord who lived in Sevier
Co., AR in 1880?
He was married to Violette M. Burgess in 1854. Their 6th child was born
in Nebraska before they moved to Arkansas. Violette died in Nov. 1881
and Newton sold land in Feb. 1882, and moved to Texas. Are there any tax records or land records that will provide more information on this family?
Thanks. We will be happy to share the information we have.

Would like to correspond with anyone researching the RIDGE and MUSGRAVE
lines in Sevier Co., AR. My earliest proven Ridge was Sam William Ridge
who married Nancy Musgrave in Hardeman Co., TN in 1829. The Ridge
family and several Musgrave families were in Tippah Co., MS in the
1840's. By 1848 S. W. Ridge was in Monroe Co., AR and the Musgraves
moved on to Sevier Co., AR. Family story is that S. W. Ridge left
Monroe Co. in 1860 for Lawrence Co., AR. I have been unable to find him
in the 1860 census; however, his son Quim appears in land deeds in
Lawrence Co., AR in the 1860's and apparently was dead by 1865. Any help
appreciated.

I'm seeking information on Richard Feris MOORE, he used the name Dick
MOORE, he was married to 1)Catherine ?, 2)Christy Elizabeth COLD, 3) Bessie
Lee MATHIS-BRELAND his children by all three wives Jessie, James Franklin,
Joe Paul, John Henry, Ada Lee, Ruby Hatoni, and Madeline.
Richard's father is supposed to be James MOORE, and his mother is unknown.
Richard's siblings were: Clinton (Dutch or Blackie or Blankie), Sophie
(Sophia), James (Jim or Pat), Bently (Ben or Bent).
My father (John Henry) was born in Gilham, Sevier Co., Ark in 1926. This
is the only real location I have been able to place them. Richard, Ada L.,
Sophie died in car accident in Okla., in late 1920's. If anyone can look
up this family on the Ark 1920 census it will be greatly appreciated. They
are not on the 1920 census for Okla or Tex. Until I can locate Richard I
am stuck and I'm sure most of you know this feeling. Okla Vital Stats
can't find birth or death certificates.
I know they existed cause my father had me, but where are they and where
did they come from. My father was only 2 or 3 when Richard died so he
can't answer many questions. Any way thanks.

TODAY (9/14/96) that they had settled in Sevier County, AR around 1900,
migrating from Missouri. Several of my g-grandfather's brothers and sisters
were born in King, Arkansas. [Does anyone] have access to the 1900 federal
census? If you do and have the time, I would like to know if you find John
Bell Holder, wife Uretha with several children listed in Sevier County in
1900? Several children were born in King, AR between 1904 and 1910 according
to the information I have just received.
